“Techspert” style help once you get home…

Over the past three and a half years as a HAL Microsoft Digital Workshop Techspert, I can’t count the number of guests who have asked “Can I take you home with me?” The question is often said honestly, with a follow-up statement “I just can’t find anyone near me who explains things so patiently and at my speed, and who also doesn’t charge me lots of money”.

My pat answer, with a twinkle in my eye, was always to simply just book another cruise! You could either look at it as great price for great classes and get a free cruise, or book a great cruise deal with free classes included. This is still always a great option, of course, but now there is another great option from the comfort of your own home or local mall.

Microsoft Store has rolled out to Malls near you! The stores offer great customer service for all purchase, setup and maintenance needs. They also offer one on one training with an Answer Tech for any general PC or Windows software related requests. If you do not have a Microsoft Store near you help is only a phone call away.

Answer Tech support costs $49.00 USD for one hour or only $99.00 USD for an entire year of help and training. This is a great value if you have lots of questions. No question is too stupid and you will receive teaching and support at your speed. Think of it as having your own personal Techspert!

    I’m a Mac Person. I wish you would expand your classes to accommodate those of us who have Mac Computers.

      Hi Bob,

      Thanks for the comment and thanks for visiting this blog. As we are sponsored and partnered with Windows on board, we have no plans to expand to Mac computers at this time. However, a large selection of the classes we offer are available for use on a Mac or at least have transferable skills that you might find helpful. Our classes on SkyDrive and cloud computing relate to any comptuer and our photo editing classes teach valuable skills that transfer through all programs like iPhoto and Picassa, not just Photo Gallery. Hope to see you sailing again soon!

    I just returned from Alaska, aboard the Holland America Zaandam one of the highlights of the cruise were the FREE computer classes while on the open sea. Scott is an amazing teacher. I learned more in his free classes then I have ever learned in a computer class I have paid for. Now that I am home I have made a couple of movies without any problem. I know more about the capabilities of my computer then I knew possible.
    Thank you microsoft for having teachers like Scott onboard he added greatly to my trip!!
