Digital Workshop Techspert Summit – 2012!

1 Oct

Hi Everyone,

Techspert Rob here reporting from the ms Veendam.  Have any of you heard about the upcoming Windows 8?  Well to prepare for this exciting transition, all of us Techsperts got together at Microsoft HQ in Redmond, WA to help bring together brand new Digital Workshop sessions.  Here are a few highlights from the last week:

First activity on the list was learning how to use the touch feature, here we all are warming up.

Here are our temporary tablets that we were working with, complete with Microsoft cup and SkyDrive soda!

…and here is our master of SkyDrive, Techspert Aiden telling us about all its new features.  This is one of our many new sessions to look forward to in the near future.

Hard at work as expected!

And finally here is your Digital Workshop team! In case you were curious as to how we all were able to smile at once for this great group shot, the answer is we weren’t! Everyone knows that it’s very difficult to get all these smiles from one picture so this is an example of photo fusing at it’s finest!

Keep an eye out in the near future for all of the exciting things that we learned during the week!

We look forward to seeing you sailing on board with us very soon.

Rob

Hi Terry, Once we have fully launched our Windows 8 sessions on board all of our ships this winter the handouts for all of our Windows 8 sessions will be available online.

      Thank you.

Are the Digital Workshop handouts (unabridged) for the older Windows 7 curriculum still archived and available from somewhere in cyberspace? Frank Barcelona was the superb Techspert on the ms Noordam at the time we cruised the Eastern Med back in the Fall of 2011. I neglected to download those Windows 7 handouts upon our return to the U.S. Having recently cruised New Zealand and Australia with Techspert Rob Nicholson on the ms Oosterdam, I have finally downloaded the Windows 8 handouts. Surely would like to find copies of the older handouts … as I still have three Windows 7 computers and have not yet taken the plunge to transition to Windows 8.
